From an early age Yvonne spent many hours in the local countryside collecting through woods and fields.
She was greatly influenced by her Grandmother, a watercolour Artist, who passed down her vast knowledge of plants and her cooking and sewing skills. At the age of eleven her family moved to Weymouth in Dorset and Yvonne found a whole new way of life.
In the late 1960’s she attended Bournemouth College of Art and embraced student life – hippies, ban the bomb, flower power and generally having fun. After leaving college she dabbled in graphic design, photography and garment making.
A change of lifestyle followed. Combined with raising a family she joined a small print company where she quickly had to upgrade her skills to meet the demands of the fast developing print process.
After ten years in the printing world it has all changed again for Yvonne. She now finds herself immersed in her painting and is keen to show how her passion for the countryside has influenced her art.
